In today's capitalist world, it can be challenging to find harmony between financial success and spiritual beliefs. Many people feel torn between the pursuit of material wealth and the desire to live a purposeful, balanced life. However, it is possible to align your money-related decisions with your spiritual values and achieve financial freedom while maintaining a spiritual perspective; all while looking at money and wealth in a new light.
What is Money vs. Wealth
Money and wealth are two vastly different things that have been mistaken for each other during the last 20-30 years.
What is Money?
1. Money is vastly misunderstood in today's economic environment. It has become the measure that people generally apply to determine wealth
2. The act of spending money is literally just a mutual exchange of perceived value between two parties.
For example, I could say that a cup of coffee is worth $5.00 but the vendor
disagrees and charges me $7.50. By agreeing to the purchase, I agree with the value of the coffee.
3. Money was originally called Currency, as it relates to the energy exchange of two mutual parties agreeing. As such, it is an energetic current that flows just as the tides flow in the ocean. This energy flow can be blocked by limiting beliefs and a misunderstanding of it's true nature. This can make it appear as though money is hard to earn or is a limited resource.
At the end of the day, Money is nothing more than energy represented by numbers moving around between parties, and if it's sitting in the bank, then it's literally just numbers in a database.
What is Wealth?
Wealth is something completely different. Wealth is something that is all around you and is something that is totally subject to your perception.
Wealth can be something as simple as having enough money to take your children to the beach over summer, or having a full pantry, with more than enough food for your family.
The actual definition of wealth according to the Collins Dictionary and Thesaurus is riches; abundance. When we look further into it, abundance is literally the noun for abundant which simply means plentiful.
Wealth is all around you. A way to recognise it is to take a deep breath in, and feel the air flowing in through your nostrils. There is an abundance of air flowing as you breathe which illustrates that you are in fact wealthy already.
By absorbing the true meanings of money and wealth, you can notice what your beliefs are around these two separate topics and free yourself to truely align with the energy of money.
Having said that, there are practical tips that you can use to help with that alignment as well.
You can find 5 tips to align your spiritual values better with money below.
1. Define Your Spiritual Values:
The first step in aligning your money with your spiritual values is to clearly define what those values are. Reflect on what truly matters to you in life and how you want to contribute to the world. Is it compassion, kindness, or environmental sustainability or something else? Once you have a clear understanding of your spiritual values, you can use them as a compass to guide your financial decisions.
2. Practice Conscious Spending:
One way to align your money with your spiritual values is to practice conscious spending. Before making a purchase, ask yourself if it aligns with your values and contributes to your overall well-being. Avoid mindless consumerism and instead focus on investing in experiences and products that bring you joy, support your spiritual growth, and have a positive impact on the world.
3. Create a Budget or an allocation plan:
A budget is a powerful tool for aligning your financial decisions with your spiritual values. By creating a budget, you can allocate your money towards the things that truly matter to you, such as personal growth, supporting causes you believe in, or saving for future endeavors. A budget helps you prioritize your spending and ensures that your money is being used in alignment with your values.
4. Invest Mindfully:
Investing is another area where you can align your money with your spiritual values. Consider investing in companies or funds that align with your beliefs, such as those focused on sustainability, social responsibility, ethical practices or bringing positive change to the world. By investing in alignment with your values, you can support businesses that are making a positive impact in the world while also potentially growing your wealth.
5. Practice Gratitude and Abundance:
Cultivating a mindset of gratitude and abundance is essential for aligning your money with your spiritual values. Instead of focusing on scarcity and lack, shift your perspective to one of abundance and gratitude for what you already have. This mindset shift will not only attract more financial abundance into your life but also help you make conscious financial choices that align with your spiritual values.
Conclusion
Remember, achieving financial freedom while maintaining a spiritual perspective is a journey. It requires self-reflection, conscious decision-making, and a commitment to living in alignment with your values.
By following these tips and embracing a holistic approach that focuses on the power of love, light, and energy flowing, you can uncover your inner potential and live a purposeful, balanced life where your values and money mindset align.
